8-2-2013 All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.

Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Alexander Ovechkin of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Shea Weber in the final.

Joe Thornton of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 88 MPH, beating Henrik Sedin in the final.

Steven Stamkos of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Evgeni Malkin in the final.

Marc-André Fleury of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Pekka Rinne in the final.

Team North America won the breakaway relay with a team of Steven Stamkos, Sidney Crosby and Shea Weber.

The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.

Team World has won the annual All-Star game with a score of 13-8. Game MVP was Anze Kopitar.
